Red Bull Straight Rhythm Analysis

Can we see Super cross races like this in the near future? There are many questions and doubts regarding this style of racing. If you miss or fail a jump the injury can be extremely high due to the speed. Techniques will have to change as well as the bike. Techniques such as scrubbing harder and practice start more than turns. The bike setting will probably change to a faster and with more torque bike. This can heavily influence big industries since they will not focus on handling but more on speed or suspensions. With this being said, it can be inferred that racing can get really interesting. There can be more competition and probably new riders can now participate. The question now is, how far are we from this type of competition, 5 years, 10 years. Also another question can be, what racers will accept this challenge? Many riders are known for their incredible turning and rut speeds. In this races, they would be heavily influenced without turns.

Scrubbing will be a technique that must me mastered in order to gain time. With a perfect scrub, you can gain essential time, giving you space to breathe. This will change practice formats and basically the whole sport. The riders will have to train scrubs and get used to the speed.

Whoops are also a major part of the straight rhythm. Not all riders can pass the whoops as James Stewart or Justin Bogle. Many will have to practice and believe me, practicing whoops are hard, or you go HAM or nothing. Whoops are extremely challenging as well as it requires technique, keeping the balls of your feet on the pegs and pressing hard in the legs as well as a constant flow of acceleration.

The winner will be the one who throws it down harder and goes faster.
